Interesting story for children combining morality, geography, and history. Tells the story of a brother and sister in Siberia, where their father was exiled after taking part in the Polish Revolution of 1830. They make a home in the village and become successful sable hunters, building a good life in a hard place with moral courage and hard work. Ultimately they are vindicated of the crimes of their family and take their place in the world outside Siberia
