Turquoise linen boards, 7 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches, 323 pages plus publishers ads in rear; faint wear at extremities, toned pages, dust jacket rubbed and edge worn with a couple of tiny edge tears, dust jacket now in protective mylar cover. The story concerns a woman who, while traveling with her current husband, meets her ex-husband whom she hasn't seen in years and who is now a successful literary figure. Margaret Ayer Barnes didn't start writing until she was forty, when she broke her back in a car accident. She took up writing apparently out of boredom during her convalescence. Six years later she won the Pulitzer for "Years of Grace.
