Embossed, padded red leather boards. The leather is worn at corners, edges and spine ends, but remains soft and supple. The spine and edges are a little sun faded. The gilt to the page edges is scuffed and faded with age. The pages remain clean and crisp, and the binding is sound. Previous owner's name written in the front end paper. Oliver Goldsmith (1730 – 1774) was an Irish novelist, playwright and poet, who is best known for his novel The Vicar of Wakefield
