12 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches; unnumbered pages; black and white photographic illustrations on every page; signed by Dare Wright in front free end paper; pictorial boards are rubbed and scuffed with heavy wear at extremities, corners wearing through, splits to joints at spine ends and rear joint cracking, pages show mild handling wear and occasional smudges, binding sound. Have you met Dare Wright's angsty little doll Edith and her friend Little Bear? Dare Wright, who was a model and photographer, created a series of books for children known as the Lonely Doll Series. She illustrated all of the books with black & white photographs of her childhood doll and two stuffed teddy bears, in great detail. She started the series in the late 1950s, and went on to write and photograph eighteen more books over the next couple of decades. The photographs are spectacular, and the stories tend to be unusual. Many of the books are now out of print. In this volume, Edith, Mr Bear, and Little Bear go to the country to visit Mr Bear's for Christmas and Edith knits a muffler that's very, very long for Mr. Bear.
