9 1/2 x 6 inches, 324 pages, Catalogue of Medical and Scientific Books from the publisher comprising several unnumbered pages in rear; bound in calf with black leather title block and gilt bands to spine, boards are heavily worn and scuffed with small sticker removal injury to top front spine corner, much of the skin of the leather is chipped away from spine and half of title block is gone, Myo Cid bookplate in front end paper, previous owner's name in front free end paper, pages toned, foxed and spotted throughout, binding remains sound. Twenty-one chapters on conditions, diseases and wounds affecting the teeth and mouth, along with descriptions of treatments and surgical procedures to treat the afflictions. Scarce edition. Thomas E. Bond, Jr. (1813-1872) was the first professor of oral pathology, wrote the first textbook of oral pathology and is considered by some to be the Father of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.
